For local food lovers and pizza aficionados, October 5 was not just another Friday; it marked the start of an exciting culinary journey as Caliente Pizza & Draft House opened its newest location in the North Hills, taking over the newly remodeled space of the long-standing Silvioni's restaurant.
To mark the occasions, the entire staff of Caliente gathered outside, their faces beaming with excitement and pride. Owner Nick Bogacz stood at the forefront, ready to inaugurate this special occasion. With a bottle of champagne in hand, Bogacz addressed the crowd, sharing his enthusiasm and gratitude for the warm welcome.
The pop of the champagne cork marked the official opening, followed by cheers and applause from the crowd. The event was further distinguished by the presence of former Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald expressed his delight at welcoming Caliente to the North Hills. His comments highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses and fostering a sense of community.

With the formalities concluded, it was finally time for attendees to step inside and experience Caliente for themselves.
The crowd moved eagerly into the building, splitting between the dining area and the inviting bar to the right. Each section offered its own unique charm, catering to both casual diners and those seeking a lively bar atmosphere.
For those that will remember Silvioni's, the transformation of the space was remarkable.
Where Silvioni's had stood for over 75 years, a new interior now gleamed with fresh sports bar modernity and warmth. The walkaround bar layout appears well designed to encourage conversation and connection, making it a great setting for a meal or a drink with friends.
No Caliente location would be complete without a diverse selection of beers on tap, and the North Hills venue is no exception. Beer lovers rejoiced at the sight of a wide array of options, each promising a unique taste experience.

Of course, no grand opening is without its minor hiccups.
The first pours of beer presented a few challenges, but these were quickly overcome. In fact, this writer had the honor of enjoying the very first Yuengling draft served at the new location—a moment to remember.
As I departed with a couple of pizzas in hand, I couldn't shake the thought that for the residents of Pittsburgh's North Hills, Caliente Pizza & Draft House is a valuable addition to the lively dining landscape along Babcock Blvd. With its inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff, it's sure to become a favorite spot for many.
The Ross Township location is the eighth restaurant in the Caliente Pizza & Draft House. Other locations across Pittsburgh and the 412 include Bloomfield, Mt. Lebanon, Aspinwall, Monroeville, Sewickley, and Crafton.
