Fajita Pete's is bringing their Mexican cuisine to the North Hills - with a franchisee set to open its initial restaurant in The Block Northway toward the end of summer. This location at The Block Northway shopping plaza in Ross Township is part of a greater plan for three other Fajita Pete's eateries to be launched in the Pittsburgh area.
Fajita Pete's is a Houston-based chain that has established itself through catering and traditional dining alike. Since its launch in 2015, Fajita Pete's restaurant chain has opened fifteen locations in its hometown of Houston as it continues to grow and reach out to other cities.
The expansion into the Pittsburgh market is by way of a joint venture between local entrepreneurs Chris and Brittny Mabry. Both of them are already experienced business owners who bring expertise in different sectors to this collaboration.
With decades of combined experience in recruiting, business development, marketing, and technical operations under their belt—combined with Brittny's Fox Chapel High School roots and Chris' lifelong love for the Pittsburgh Penguins stemming from his very first visit to the city—Brittny and Chris make a formidable duo.
In a joint statement, Chris and Brittny Mabry said: “We are delighted to bring our renowned Tex-Mex fajitas to Pittsburgh! Our award-winning recipes will make Fajita Pete's an instant favorite throughout the city of steel which is steeped in family values and community spirit.”
“Spending time in the ‘burgh, we quickly realized the need for quality Tex-Mex cuisine and a great family food and office catering experience that matches the Tex-Mex culture. Fajita Pete’s is unmatched with its unique flavor profile and streamlined menu,” says Chris. “Fajita Pete’s offers high quality, house-made Tex-Mex cuisine with superior travelability – providing fresh fajitas from our grill to your table,” adds Brittny.
At this Tex-Mex restaurant, you'll discover a variety of options from beef and chicken fajitas to veggie dishes. They also offer made-from-scratch sides like rice, beans, salsa, guacamole, and queso! For drinks, they offer margaritas, beer, and various tequila varieties.
Fajita Pete's will have tough competition, facing Barrio Tacos at Ross Park Mall and Condado Tacos opening up soon at McCandless Crossing (April 27th). Not to mention the already-established Mexican restaurants along McKnight Road such as Doce Taqueria, El Campesino, and Mad Mex. It is truly shaping up to be a fight for customers!
However, with a focus on superior fajitas and catering services, Fajita Pete's is poised to become another great option for Tex-Mex in North Hills. So keep your eyes open for Fajita Pete's coming to The Block Northway later this year.
