In a recent article from the Pittsburgh Business Times, reporter Jake Dabkowski revealed that the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square is set to close in February 2025. 

Having been a part of the local dining scene for over two decades, the Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh restaurant has offered memorable dining experiences to its patrons in the heart of the South Side development.

The decision to close comes as a result of the restaurant's expiring lease which the owners have chosen not to renew. 

Despite having launched a burger inspired by the city only earlier this year across its over 300 international branches, Hard Rock Cafe will cease operations in Pittsburgh on Feb. 13, 2025.

As the spokesperson for the Hard Rock Cafe stated, "We are so grateful to our incredible team members and fans in the Steel City for their support and memories all this time." The restaurant has been a central part of Pittsburgh's vibrant food culture and the team at Hard Rock has expressed their deep appreciation for the local community.

The article notes that the Hard Rock Cafe is not the first Station Square restaurant to announce its closure this year. In September, the long-standing Joe's Crab Shack also closed its doors. The Buca di Beppo in Pittsburgh's Station Square closed permanently June. The Italian restaurant had operated in the location for 25 years.

The reasons for these closures seem to be more widespread, the article indicated, the Station Square property owners, the New York-based firm Brookfield Properties, have been attempting to sell the development due to hardships caused by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

For now, the Hard Rock Cafe at 230 W Station Square Dr. will continue to operate as usual until its official closing date, the article stated. Official hours are 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays.
