On Thursday, PNC confirmed reports from regulatory filings that it will soon close 47 branches across 14 states, reported the Pittsburgh Business Times in an article published on their website, on March 30. One of those Branch closings is the North Boundary branch at 20940 Route 19 in Cranberry Township.
Additionally, PNC said the receiving branch for the Cranberry branch closing on June 23 is its location at 1340 Freedom Road, also in Cranberry Township.
PNC declared that all will shut their doors on June 23.
As of June 30, 2022, the end of FDIC's fiscal year, PNC boasted 2,600 branches across America with approximately 100 located in Pittsburgh. In the 10-county southwestern Pa. area, PNC has already closed 6 branches during the first half of 2023—but if you take into consideration that 3 locations in South Hills were combined to create a new office on 3701 Saw Mill Run Blvd., then it's actually five reductions in total.
PNC Financial Services Group Inc., located in Pittsburgh, is the biggest bank in southwestern Pennsylvania in deposit market share. Due to customer preferences and mergers that have taken place over the past decade, this prominent bank has been revising its branch locations accordingly.
