F.N.B. is undergoing a significant transition as it relocates from its long-standing base on the North Side to the Lower Hill District, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times in an article Friday.
This move marks a major shift in its operations and reflects the company's commitment to growth and adaptation, the article stated. The relocation is expected to bring new opportunities and foster community engagement in the Lower Hill District, further embedding F.N.B. in the heart of the city's business landscape. This strategic decision highlights F.N.B.'s dedication to innovation and its vision for the future, the article stated.
According to the article, Pittsburgh employees will, for the most part, be working at the bank's new corporate headquarters building, FNB Financial Center, located in the bustling downtown area. This transition is set to occur ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, allowing staff to settle into their new workspace and enjoy the modern amenities and state-of-the-art facilities that the center offers. The move signifies a new chapter for the bank and its employees, emphasizing growth and innovation.
"Virtually all departments will move in and are expected to be up and operational on Monday," Jennifer Reel, chief communications officer, said on Nov. 22.
While the exact numbers remain undisclosed, around 800 employees, who have been distributed across seven buildings for several years, will finally come together under one roof, the article stated.
F.N.B Financial Center was announced in December 2019 by F.N.B. and the Pittsburgh Penguins on the site of the former Civic Arena. Construction of the $220 million, 26-story, 550,000-square-foot skyscraper began three years ago.
F.N.B. will occupy 12 floors, or 230,000 square feet of office space, in a new building that can accommodate 1,000 employees. This represents roughly half of the total number of employees it has throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. The company made a strategic decision to expand its presence by taking an additional three floors in late May, which highlights its growth and commitment to the region. This expansion is set to provide modern workspaces and amenities for its staff, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.
FNB Corp. stands as Pittsburgh's fourth-largest bank by deposit market share and is the second-largest bank headquartered in Pennsylvania, with assets surpassing $48 billion. The bank operates around 430 branches, including 82 within the 10-county Pittsburgh metro area, extending its presence across several states and Washington, D.C.
A grand opening is anticipated in early 2025, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the community. The event promises to showcase innovative features and unique offerings, drawing excitement and interest from attendees. Local officials and community leaders are expected to join in the celebration, highlighting the significance of this new venture.
