In 1993, the father and son duo affectionately known as "The Bill's" pioneered a coffee culture in Squirrel Hill, Pennsylvania when they opened The Coffee Tree Roasters. This modest coffee shop featured an on-site roaster that could produce small batches of freshly roasted beans - setting off a trend throughout Pittsburgh and beyond!

Through its relentless dedication to superior coffee and espresso, Coffee Tree has bloomed over the years into five company-owned retail stores around Pittsburgh; multiple licensed locations; a popular roasting station in West Mifflin; and Espresso Solutions — an experienced team for comprehensive espresso equipment maintenance.

Under the experienced leadership of Jean Swoope, The Coffee Tree is now a Certified Woman Owned and Operated Business with two primary objectives:

1. Bring the freshest single farm-sourced coffee from around the world while fostering relationships that will last forever.
2. To offer training programs for barista positions as well as business and life skills courses in partnership with local schools so that students can learn how to run their own businesses.
