The development transforms several underutilized industrial brownfield sites into a transit-oriented district focused on sustainable and resilient development. Esplanade will feature year-round amenities that energize the site 24 hours a day – new streets, plazas and open spaces will guide people through the development and down to an activated riverfront.

Along the river, they will enjoy an array of amenities, including a vibrant public destination with a four-season open space – the Pavilion, an amphitheater, a summer splash park that converts to an ice skating during the winter, a full marina with watersport offerings, and a revamped section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The development includes 480 apartments, 105 residential condominiums, a 225-key full-service hotel, boutique retail, and restaurants, community-oriented stores, an aquarium, integrated parking structures, and a 265,000 SF life science office tower that is strategically choreographed together on-site to create a landmark waterfront development for the Pittsburgh area and region.
