Held at the newly renovated Braddock Carnegie Library, this authentic story crafted by distinguished playwright Naomi Wallace and award-winning historian Marcus Rediker, unfolds through the outstanding talents of director Ron Daniels and actor Mark Povinelli.
"The Return of Benjamin Lay" shines a light on the fight against slavery, showcasing the unwavering defiance and sacrifice of Benjamin Lay, whose relentless call for emancipation brought an end to his place in his beloved Quaker community. But with undying courage, he continued to raise his voice against injustice and ask his brethren, "What does freedom mean to you?"
