Subway (Babcock Blvd.)

You know I don't like to say negative things too often, but really the Subway on Babcock Blvd. in Ross Township sucks. This is the one next to Papa John's Pizza. Anyway, several times while driving by this place on a Monday or Tuesday all the lights have been off and you'd think it was closed. One time, it was in fact closed on a weekday for no explicable reason. 

On another day my son and I managed to pull in for a sandwich and the place almost wanted to look like it was closed. When we approached the place there was a handwritten sign posted on the door saying they don't accept Subway coupons. 

Nonetheless, we entered. Barely did we see a man behind the counter. Only the backlights in the kitchen informed us it was open. The counter was unattended when we walked in and was empty of other patrons. A man emerged from the back. Reluctantly, he seemed to take our order. I asked why they didn't take coupons and he essentially gruffed and said he can't make a lot of money on those Subway discounts. 

On the positive, the place was clean. The parking is accessible. The food we did get was typical and not far away from what you get at any subway. It was just that the particular Subway seemed to be experiencing an existential crisis. 

So, the better choice for Subway when you want it is heading over to West View Shopping Plaza where you will find exceptional service, high volume, hard-working teens that care about their sandwiches, and a place where they will gladly take coupons. Nuff said.
