About Clover Hill
Clover Hill Golf Course in Franklin Park, PA, is a standout spot for golf enthusiasts looking for a quality experience without venturing too far from Pittsburgh. Officially opened to the public in April 1990, Clover Hill has since dedicated itself to upholding a high standard of excellence. This 9-hole course is celebrated for its meticulous maintenance and all-year availability, weather and course conditions permitting. Despite not being the longest course, it presents a unique challenge to golfers, focusing on precision with its clever use of sand traps, rolling greens, water hazards, and various obstacles.
The history of Clover Hill is as intriguing as its layout, starting in 1984 with the land initially owned by Ryan Homes. The development saga and legal battles with Franklin Park Borough Council led to the transformation of the property into the golf course it is today. The compromise and final agreement allowed the borough to acquire and expand the course, providing a recreational asset to the community. This backstory adds a layer of depth and appreciation for the grounds as players navigate through the course.
Overall, Clover Hill Golf Course offers golfers a blend of challenge, beauty, and history, wrapped up in a friendly and appreciative atmosphere. It's a gem for those in the Pittsburgh area seeking a golfing experience that values skill, strategy, and a connection to the community.

Editor review
What looked like a straightforward pitch and putt turned into my personal snowman-building contest. My ball took a scenic tour into the woods, rolled down a hill, and when I tried to play hero with a blind shot uphill, I overshot and found myself on a repeat tour back down.
This little adventure racked me up a solid eight on the scorecard. Despite the hiccup, I managed to find my rhythm later on, enough to keep up with my buddy, but the day's highlight was the post-game beer. Never has a drink tasted so good after such a wild ride on the greens. It was a day of laughs, a few face-palms, and a reminder that golf is as much about the mishaps as it is about the mastery. Cheers to that!
