Interesting Facts about The 2026 NFL Draft In Pittsburgh

Heralded as the league's biggest offseason event, the NFL draft has attracted over 3 million fans across the country since 2015. Most recently, the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit saw a record-breaking 775,000 fans in person and garnered more than 53.6 million total viewers.

"I don't think any of us envisioned that it would be as big as it is," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said of the traveling draft. "I think Detroit ... was incredible. The passion of the fans, their enthusiasm for the event, it was just extraordinary; it's the best way to say it.

"I think moving it around was ... one of those risk-benefit discussions that you have. We were very successful in Radio City (Music Hall). (New York) is the media market of the world -- some might dispute -- but certainly we were in a really great position there. It just turned out that the facility wasn't available in a given year, and we said, 'Now's the time. Let's go.' I don't think we're looking back. I think we're looking forward, including Pittsburgh."

The Pittsburgh draft will mark the return of the league's annual player selection meeting to the Steel City for the first time since 1948, when it took place at the Fort Pitt Hotel.
Seventy-two years later, Pittsburgh will come full circle and set the stage for one of the NFL's most highly anticipated events in 2026.

Where Exactly Will The NFL Draft Take Place In Pittsburgh?

At this point, no definite venues have been announced but Steelers Team president Art Rooney II has said it will likely be at and around the surrounding areas of Acrisure stadium.
