Over a couple of rounds, Santa shared some insider tips, and one stood out: Allusion Brewing in Allison Park. As luck would have it, this new spot was just a five-minute drive from my place. With a recommendation like that, how could I resist?

I decided to pop into Allusion Brewing on a sunny day, eager to see if it lived up to Santa's hype. The place was sparsely packed, but it was still early. I grabbed a seat at the bar and was quickly engaged in some friendly small talk with a local regular. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, just what you’d hope for in a neighborhood brewery.

First up, I tried the Olmstead Ale. This light gold, malt-forward American blonde ale was a delight. Brewed with Caramel Malts and Willamette and Chinook hops, it offered a slightly sweet, smooth finish that was incredibly satisfying. It’s the kind of beer that’s perfect for sipping on a sunny afternoon.

Next, I went for the One Inning More, an American Pale Ale. Brewed with Pale and Victory malts and bittered with American Willamette and Cascade hops, this beer struck a perfect balance. The hints of earth, floral, and spice in the taste and aroma made for a complex yet approachable brew. It’s clear the folks at Allusion know their stuff.

The service at Allusion Brewing was top-notch. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They also had some great swag, and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of stickers for my beer fridge as a keepsake.

All in all, Allusion Brewing is a fantastic addition to the Allison Park area. Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast or just looking for a new spot to unwind, this place is worth checking out. Thanks to Santa’s recommendation, I’ve found a new favorite local hangout. Cheers to Allusion Brewing – I’ll definitely be back!
